Boyle ICA
An exploratory meeting to set up Boyle ICA (Irish Countrywomen's Association) will take place in the Resource Centre on February 28th at 8:00pm – all welcome.

Neven Maguire in Kilronan Castle
A cookery demonstration with the renowned chef Neven Maguire will take place on Wednesday 1st March 2017 in Kilronan Castle. Wine & Canape Reception from 7pm with an opportunity to browse the local produce and craft stands. Demo starts at 8pm with a raffle for great prizes. Tickets €20 and are on sale at Kilronan Castle, Surprises and Boyle Motor Works. Proceeds in aid of Ardcarne Community Childcare Services and a contribution will be given to St. Michaels and St Patricks NS Cootehall.

Annual Book Fair
St. Joseph’s Boys School will be holding their Annual Book Fair on Wednesday March 1st  9.00am until 9.30am, Thursday 2nd 3pm until 4pm Friday 3rd March 9am until 9.30 am Monday 6th March 9pm until 9.30 and Tuesday March 7th  from 9am until 9.30 with all commission earned going towards books for their classrooms and library. Support for their Book Fair is greatly appreciated.

Attention all Businesses in all sectors
Boyle Chamber of Commerce welcome Cathriona O’Shea from Seetec who will give a lunchtime overview on the benefits of using the Jobpath programme for any future recruitment requirements businesses may have. This a free recruitment service available to all employers whereby Seetec screen, train and offer in-job support to employers with the aim to successfully place suitable employees to match the needs of employers, saving the employer time and costs. Most Jobpath participants are eligible for the Jobplus initiative. Cathriona will be available to answer any questions you may have during this lunchtime briefing. The Briefing will commence at 1.10pm conclude before 2pm on Wednesday 1st March in Boyle Enterprise Centre and light refreshments will be provided.

SEMINARS & BUSINESS

BOYLE ST PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
This year’s Boyle St Patricks Day Parade promises to be the best ever with a special International flavour including traditional Samba Dancers! Our Parade will commence at 3.30pm on Friday 17th March. We encourage as many businesses, clubs and associations in Boyle to prepare over the coming weeks to partake in the Parade and enter a float. Entering a float is free so do avail of the opportunity! 1st Prize for Overall Winner is €500 with a runner up of €200; There is also a Junior Section (under 16) 1st Prize is €200 and runner up €100 and of course the Perpetual Cup for the best dressed Window display in town. The success of the Parade depends on the Community and Businesses to get involved and showcase Boyle at its best. Taking part with a float in the Parade offers a great opportunity to promote your club, school or business which we’re all very proud of. Over the coming weeks letters will be dropped into businesses seeking contributions towards the Parade and the organising committee thank the Community always for the warm welcome they receive and their financial support.

Golf Classic Fundraiser
A Golf Classic will be held in Boyle Golf Club for Boyle Courthouse & Model Railway on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th March. Teams of 4 - price €100 per team / Lunch is included in entrance fee - your support is most welcome - confirmation is needed by Tuesday 21st February

BOYLE & DISTRICT ANGLING CLUB
Boyle Annual Pike Angling Festival will be taking place on the Easter weekend, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April on Lough Key, Boyle. €5000 guaranteed prize fund 1st Prize €2,500 plus the Moonstone Jewellers Perpetual Cup. In addition, Saturday and Sunday’s winners will each receive €1175 in prize money. Entry Fee per person - Adults €60 / Juniors €20 (Junior’s must fish for junior prize and be accompanied by a fee paying adult). Tidy Towns & Amenity Grants Scheme 2017
Roscommon County Council is currently accepting applications under the Tidy Towns & Amenity Grants Scheme 2017 Applications will be accepted from: - Tidy Towns Associations - Local Development Groups - Sub-Aqua Groups Funding is available for eligible small scale capital amenity projects. Please note that it is important that all sections of the Scheme are read in full before completed application forms are submitted. BOYLE GOLF CLUB SPRING LEAGUE
The Spring League sponsored by PD Golf has entered the business end of proceedings with two of the four groups having completed all of their group matches. In group 1, Peggy Feely & Kevin O’Connor have secured their place in the final by winning their final match 2 up to leave them on a five match aggregate of +12, a score sufficient to top the group. Shane Loftus & Regina McLoughlin finished one behind and will possibly take one of the two best runner’s spots. In the second group, Paul Connolly & Seth Meredith lead and are in a strong position to top the group. Their total score of 9 up leaves them 6 clear of 3 other pairs, one of them being Dave Purser & Claire Cryan who have a game outstanding. Moving to group 3, Vincent Egan & Lewis Shaw have completed a clean sweep in their group finishing with a total aggregate of +18, the highest score recorded in the competition. They are followed by Pat Conroy & Susan O’Mahoney who won 4 of their 5 games, finishing with a total score of +13. In the final group, Michael Rush & Gerry O’Hara continues to lead on +8, followed by Paddy McLoughlin & Mandy Toolan on +5. Also, don’t rule out Willie Tiernan & Sandra McCrann who are only 3 holes further back with one game yet to be played.

Courtyard Market
The market is now open for Organic Fruit and Vegetables, Organic Eggs, Olive Oil, Achill Sea Salt, Breads, Cakes and Tarts. The market will be open from 10am until 2pm each and every Saturday.
