IRISH LEGENDS STORY TELLING
As part of Social Inclusion Week, Úna Bhán Craft Shop, Grounds of King House, Boyle will host three mornings of FREE storytelling and hot chocolate. Focusing on pre-school children and their parents / guardians with young children that may feel lonely and experiencing social isolation and welcome the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in the company of others while immersing themselves in Irish Legend stories. Please come along from 9.30am to 11.30am on Monday Oct 15th, Tuesday Oct 16th and / or Wednesday Oct 17th. Call in or phone Anna on 071 966 3033 to book your free place. COOKERY DEMONSTRATIONS
As part of Social Inclusion Week, Úna Bhán will host a morning at Boyle Farmers Market incorporating cookery demonstrations by Flo to provide healthy wholesome food with a main focus on those living on a budget, called 'Healthy Foods & Healthy Minds'. This years Social Inclusion week's theme is 'Healthy Roscommon' and all are very welcome to participate in an interactive and social event on Saturday 20th October from 10am to 2pm in the Grounds of King House, Boyle. The Courtyard Market, Boyle takes place every Saturday from 10am to 2pm in the grounds of King House. DAS ACADEMY CLASSES 
DAS Academy (Dance/Act/Singing) in Boyle continued on Thursday September 27th  in St. Joseph’s BNS Class Times: 4.30pm – 5.30pm will be a Dance Act Sing class for age groups 6 – 9yrs 5.30pm – 6.30pm will be a Hip Hop/Commercial class for age group 8yrs -12yrs. 6.30pm – 7.30pm will be a Hip Hop/Commercial Class for 13yrs – 17yrs. 8pm – 9pm will be an Adult Fitness Fun class. Louise is a children’s mindfulness teacher and the author of Irelands first Mindfulness series for children, the “Mindfully Me” series. Louise will read from her books and help children to learn fun and creative ways to calm, relax and deal with worries. Children will also explore thoughts, feelings and how to feel good about being themselves using art, craft and stories. Úna Bhán Tourism are conducting a project called Mná na Buille, a celebration of the culture and creativity of the women from the community of Boyle, especially those born prior to 1940. The project will capture their stories and experiences through different times and situations, often funny, often sad, but all amazing. Stories that reflect growing up in the local community, going to school, the chores they had to do, how they socialised, met their partners and how their lives led them through marriage and rearing families. Stories lost if not recorded and passed to future generations reflecting their strength and endurance during different times, bringing rural and urban experiences and bridging different classes together. The project will reflect and respect specific identities in a positive way to also include women with Dementia and those that may now find their homes in care and nursing homes. ‘GATEWAYS’ IN KING HOUSE
An exhibition titled ‘Gateways’ by Fiona McDonald has been launched in King House, Boyle. As construction of the new visual art space at the Roscommon Arts Centre continues, Gateways is one of a series of offsite projects presented across the county. Following a series of visits to sites in the Boyle region, artist Fiona McDonald has produced a series of works exploring live networks and the idea of making these communication/data systems more visible. The launch took place on September 1st and will run until September 27th

BOYLE GOLF CLUB RESULTS
Well done to friends and neighbours in Ballaghaderren Golf Club for being the originators and Hara behind the "County Cup". Castlerea were the first winners of the competition which was held on Saturday the 8th in Ballaghaderreen. Boyle Golf Club looks forward to hosting it next year and hope we can do as good a job as Ballaghaderreen did in 2018. Thanks also to the Roscommon Herald for sponsoring the competition. The men’s' midweek 9-hole stable ford will continue for the next few weeks. Sunday competitions for the next few weeks for the men will included an 18 hole strokeplay which was played on Sunday the 16th followed by 18 hole stablefords on the 2 subsequent Sundays.

COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME 2018
The Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) - Men’s Sheds offers funding to Men’s Sheds who are currently affiliated with the Irish Men’s Sheds Association. The Department of Rural and Community Development provide the funding which will be administered through Roscommon LCDC and the Community and Enterprise section of Roscommon County Council. There is €1,449 funding available per Men’s Shed in the County and funding will be allocated equally to all Men’s Sheds in the county that submit a valid application. Eligible Projects are small scale capital projects only for example, office equipment, project resources, building upgrades, energy efficiency equipment, safety equipment etc. Approval of successful projects will take place in September and all monies must be claimed with receipts no later than November 30th 2018. BOYLE GOLF CLUB RESULTS
The men’s' competition on Sunday the 2nd of September was the King Cup which was won this year by David Wynne with 40 points, just shading out Gerry O'Dowd's 39. Sean Heslin won the prize for best gross score and Tom Kearney came 3rd with 37 points. This competition was kindly sponsored by Tonni's Takeaway, Elphin Street. The club thanks Valentin and Iosif for their support. Interclub -Boyle went out of the Connacht Shield to a strong Ballina team. Despite winning all the home matches, the team were unable to get the much sought after away win. The next interclub competition on the horizon is the newly established "County Cup", which will be competed for by the 7 golf clubs in Co Roscommon in Athlone Golf Club in the next few weeks.
