LET'S TALK FOOD
A workshop on how food tourism can enhance your marketing and drive sales
In response to the greater emphasis our international visitors place on food as part of their overall holiday experience, Fáilte Ireland has developed Ireland’s Food Story – a resource packed full of engaging content and inspirational advice to help you capitalise on this growing trend. This three hour workshop will provide practical tips and advice on how to write a food story for your business and how it can deliver additional business. This workshop will take place on Tuesday 20th October in Gleesons Town House, Roscommon Town at 2pm with registration from 1.30 and should last around 3 hours. This workshop is fully subsidised by Fáilte Ireland

FREE OPEN EVENING
Taking place in the Family Life Centre, Boyle on Friday 23rd October at 7.30pm until 8. 30pm a free information evening – on how your speech can help teach you the techniques of public speaking.

RELAXATION AND PAMPER DAY
Tawnytaskin Community Centre, Boyle will host a Relaxation and Pamper day on Sunday 25th October from 6pm until 8pm which will include hand and back massage, a relaxation booth, essential oils and much more. This event is expected to fill the centre so come early to avail of free advice and sample treatments. Admission is free on the night.

LOUGH SPOOKEY HALLOWEEN
Lough SpooKey Halloween Events will be taking place from 25th October with lots of spooky happenings including Balloon Modelling, Pumpkin Carving, Story Telling, Halloween Craft and Baking, Witch and Monster Treasure Hunt.

HALLOWEEN CRAFT CLASSES
Úna Bhán Tourism will be holding workshops on Tuesday 27th/ Thursday 29th and Friday 30th of October from 2pm until 4pm. The workshops will cost €10.00 per wokshop or €25.00 if your child is doing all 3. All children from 6 to 12 welcome. Anna and Eva will be showing the children how to decorate their trick or treat bags, make Halloween decorations to make sure you have the spookiest house on the street and loads more spooky crafty things. McALEESE COLLECTION
President Mary McAleese has donated more than 60 gifts to the State she received during her 14 years in office and has been launched in King House and will prove to be a major visitor attraction. Many of those items were presented by Heads of State from around the world, including Barack Obama and Yasser Arafat. To have some of these presentations now on permanent display at King House in Boyle will certainly prove to be a major attraction for visitors at home and abroad. King House will be open Monday to Friday from 11an until 4pm up until Friday 30th October. Undoubtedly, the collection will enhance the visitor experience at King House.

CELTIC DRAW
Tickets are now on sale for the Boyle Celtic Fuel Draw which will take place in Dodd’s Crescent Bar on Saturday 31st October. Tickets are available from players, committee members and retail outlets in the area. Great prizes to be won.

SPOOKY HALLOWEEN
Supper Club at Ardcarne Garden Centre, Boyle will take place on Friday 30th October at 7.30pm until 10.30 pm. Starter will be Tapas, Dessert followed by Tea or Coffee, BYOB. Book now on 071 966 7187 as there is limited places.

BOYLE FARMERS MARKET
The Market is open from 10am to 2pm each and every Saturday in the grounds of King House, Boyle, with special offers on some stalls each week. If you would like to enjoy the best locally grown fresh and organic produce, then a trip to Boyle Farmers’ Market on Saturday should be on your agenda. There is a wide range of seasonal produce, including organic fruit and vegetables, homemade jams and marmalade, organic free range eggs, fruit juices, gluten free/ sour dough/ spelt bread and all kinds of delicious home bakes are available every week. Alongside the food stalls are a number of crafters selling their handmade wares, personalized candles and knitwear. BOYLE GOLF CLUB
The second round of the winter league took place at the weekend of 12/13th October. Team Heslin are the new leaders on 235pts followed by Team Gaffney on 229pts and Team McGuinn in 3rd place on 225pts. Highlights of the second round include Gary Carty (GOY) & Eamon Perry 47pts (fourball), Michael Reid & Tommy King 44pts (fourball), Lionel Lynn 43pts (singles) & Liz Dwyer 40pts (singles). The weekly nine hole was won by Michael Gilmartin 22pts, 2nd Michael Simon 22pts, 3rd Michael Bannon 21pts. The weekly nine hole runs from Monday – Sunday Date for your diary is the Golf Classic in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society on the October Bank Holiday weekend. (Saturday, Sunday & Monday) Format is a four team rumble at €100 per team including meal.A coffee morning and cake sale will also take place in the club house on the Saturday. A raffle will take place over the weekend with prizes including tickets for Leinster V Connacht in the RDS on New Year ’s Day. Full details on notice board. the club are delighted to announce a funding offer of €55,000 from the Sports Capital Fund. Thanks to all who organised and supported the application.  The funding will be used for a new practice area adjacent to the car part to include chipping area and driving nets, course drainage on selected holes and purchase of course machinery. Well done to Susan O’Mahoney who won the Ladies Outing in Bundoran.

BINGO IN BOYLE
Every Tuesday evening in St. Josephs Hall Boyle at 8.30pm until 10.30pm. €1000 Jackpot to be won every week.
