LOUGH SPOOKEY HALLOWEEN
Lough SpooKey Halloween Events will be taking place from 25th October with lots of spooky happenings including Balloon Modelling, Pumpkin Carving, Story Telling, Halloween Craft and Baking, Witch and Monster Treasure Hunt.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT COURSE
Wednesday October 28th will see a one day course on Human Resource Management at Boyle Enterprise Centre. The course is geared towards Owners/Managers and covers key employment areas including Statutory Responsibilities, Employment Legislation, Contracts, Performance Management, Job Descriptions & Grievance/Disciplinary procedures. McALEESE COLLECTION
President Mary McAleese has donated more than 60 gifts to the State she received during her 14 years in office and has been launched in King House and will prove to be a major visitor attraction. Many of those items were presented by Heads of State from around the world, including Barack Obama and Yasser Arafat. To have some of these presentations now on permanent display at King House in Boyle will certainly prove to be a major attraction for visitors at home and abroad. King House will be open Monday to Friday from 11an until 4pm up until Friday 30th October. Undoubtedly, the collection will enhance the visitor experience at King House.
CELTIC DRAW
Tickets are now on sale for the Boyle Celtic Fuel Draw which will take place in Dodd’s Crescent Bar on Saturday 31st October. Tickets are available from players, committee members and retail outlets in the area. Great prizes to be won.

This eagerly awaited event is a great family occasion every year combining hospitality and entertainment with a sense of community. SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE IN BOYLE
At 2pm on Sunday 8th November 2015 in the grounds of King House, the Connaught Rangers Association will be holding their annual Service of Remembrance. This is to remember all Irish victims of conflict worldwide and in particular the men of Boyle who gave their lives in the Great War 1914-1918. 126 men of Boyle were victims in this particular conflict and the centenary of the deaths of 30 of these men falls in 2030. 13 of these men were killed at Gallipoli. As is our custom during these centenary years we will read out the names of these 30 men. Afterwards at about 2.45pm the renowned author Philip Lecane will give a talk on the Gallipoli landings on 25th April 1915. He will be using the diorama produced by Boyle Men’s Shed which has been on show in King House all year as a back cloth to this talk. Philip will be taking extracts from his new book Beneath A Turkish Sun as the basis for his talk. All are invited to either or both of these events.

The Market is open from 10am to 2pm each and every Saturday in the grounds of King House, Boyle, with special offers on some stalls each week. If you would like to enjoy the best locally grown fresh and organic produce, then a trip to Boyle Farmers’ Market on Saturday should be on your agenda. There is a wide range of seasonal produce, including organic fruit and vegetables, homemade jams and marmalade, organic free range eggs, fruit juices, gluten free/ sour dough/ spelt bread and all kinds of delicious home bakes are available every week. Alongside the food stalls are a number of crafters selling their handmade wares, personalized candles and knitwear. BOYLE GOLF CLUB
Well done to Team Heslin who won the winter league with a total score of 346pts. Team Gaffney were 2nd and Team McGuinn were 3rd. Thanks for all who took part and special thanks to Michael Rush for organising. The winning team was Sean Heslin, Michael Reid, Tish Perry, Sandra McCrann, Michael Rush & Ted Hestor. Presentation of prizes takes place next weekend along with the club draw. The weekly nine hole was won by Seamus Gallagher 24pts, 2nd Owen Garvin 23pts, 3rd Charlie O’Donnell
