Fun Run/Walk in aid of children with Autism
The 3rd Annual 5k Fun Run/Walk in aid of children with Autism in Lough Key Forest Park on Tuesday 27th December at 2pm until 3pm. Rapid Prompting Method Ireland Ltd. is a charity which is supporting Education and Communication to those living with Autism. Curlew Walkers Club
The next meeting of the Curlew Walkers club will be taking  place on Tuesday 28th December, meeting on the Crescent, Boyle at 12.00.  This will be a Flat/Grade C at Lough Meelagh. BOYLE GOLF Club Results
Dec 18th’s 9 hole stableford was won by David Wynne with 23pts, in second was Dave Purser with 22pts (c/b), while in third was Vincent Egan also with 22pts. 
In upcoming fixtures, the annual Christmas Scramble will be held on Tuesday 27th December.  The draw is at 12.45pm with a shotgun start at 1pm.

Creightons New Year’s Eve Celebration
New Years Eve, Saturday December 31st gather your friends around and pop in to Creighton’s to ring in the New Year in style with live music by ‘Ted’. Eddie and Sylvia would like to thank you all for your custom in 2016 and to wish you and yours a happy and , healthy Christmas and New Year.

Local Link Revised Timetable
The revised schedule will give passengers the opportunity to avail of bus transport for an hour twice a day every day to come into town and back morning and afternoon from the Bells Park Lowpark, Mockmoyne Road. The driver will drop you off at Bridge Street, the Post Office, the Crescent or at the Supermarket and collect you an hour later to go home.
The Bus from Boyle to Roscommon leaves Boyle three times daily: 07:35 and 12:00 and 16:00. If you want to visit a relative over Christmas, the Bus Service is there to help you to make that contact along the route between Boyle, Elphin, Strokestown and Roscommon Town. Boyle Christmas Lights
The crew thank sincerely all who so generously supported the Mega Cash Draw - over 50 cards were sold and all proceeds raised go towards lighting up Boyle over the Christmas period. Special thanks to the volunteers who gave up their valuable time to sell the raffle lines. Thanks also to Londis and SuperValu for allowing us sell the lines at their premises.

Congratulations to Boyle Priest
Fr. John Coughlan, who is the curate at St. Joseph’s Parish, Boyle, has been appointed Director of Formation at the Pontifical Irish College, Rome.  Fr. John will remain in Boyle for about six months, before going to Rome to take up his new responsibilities.
Announcing the appointment today, Bishop Kevin Doran said: “Fr. Coughlan’s appointment is our way of saying that the Diocese of Elphin believes in the future of the priesthood. We hope that, in the coming years, we will be able to send seminarians both to the Irish College and to Maynooth”.

NEVEN MAGUIRE COMES TO KILRONAN CASTLE
A cookery demonstration with the renowned chef Neven Maguire will take place on Wednesday 1st March 2017 in Kilronan Castle. Tickets priced €20 are now on sale. This is a fundraising event in aid of Ardcarne Community Childcare Services and Cootehall National School.

COURTYARD MARKET
The Market is open from 10am to 2pm each and every Saturday in the grounds of King House, Boyle. If you would like to enjoy the best locally grown fresh and organic produce, then a trip to Boyle Courtyard Market on Saturday should be on your agenda. There is a wide range of seasonal produce, including organic fruit and vegetables, homemade jams and marmalade, organic free range eggs, fruit juices, gluten free/ sour dough/ spelt bread and all kinds of delicious home bakes are available every week. Alongside the food stalls are a number of crafters selling their handmade wares, so why not come along and have a chat with the stall holders and avail of their ideas. BOYLE Garda station
Increased opening hours at Boyle Garda Station are as follows: Monday to Saturday (Inclusive) 9am until 1pm and 7pm until 10pm, Sunday 11am until 1pm. On occasion it may be necessary for the Garda working at the station having to respond to call or incident of an urgent nature. If this arises, they will have to temporarily close the station in order to respond to the incident.  In addition to providing increased opening hours this will provide greater uniformity and consistency for the public. Gardai wish to thank the people of Boyle and the surrounding area for their continued support. Gardai can still be contacted on a 24hr bases on the existing telephone number 071 9664 620.

BOYLE ICA
Interested locals in the ICA (Irish Countrywomen’s Association) are trying to reform a guild in Boyle. If anyone is interested please leave their name me or text Yvonne on 087 903 7326. The ICA is the largest women’s association in Ireland, with more than 10,000 members and over 500 Guilds across the country. “We cook, travel, craft and socialise!
