Centre will commence Free Garden Design Consultations on Wednesday morning’s
for a next number of weeks. The first consultation will take place on Wednesday
January 18th from 11am to 12.30pm. Bring along photographs and an outline
sketch of your garden. The Garden Centre’s professional garden designer will
give you ideas and inspiration on creating your perfect garden. To book your

year will be available from the school office from Monday 23rd January 2017.
Completed

JOIN THE WHEELERS
If one of your
New Year resolutions is to get fit, lose weight, join a social group, enjoy the
outdoors, or indeed all of the above, then cycling could be for you. Boyle
based Curlieu Wheelers (leisure) Cycling Club will provide you with the support
and knowledge to get started. Dust off your bike and helmet and join us for a
no-obligation introductory ride on Sunday 15th Jan at 10am from the Crescent,
Boyle. We have routes to accommodate all fitness and ability levels. For more

Conference
in King House
A major national
conference on the Energy sector in Ireland post Brexit will take place in King
House on Monday 6th February. The conference is part of the All Island Civic
Dialogue on Brexit and will attract over sixty of the top names in the energy
sector from all over the Ireland. Organised by the Department of
Communications, Climate Change and Environment, the conference will be
addressed by Minister Denis Naughten. The Government recently agreed that there
would be an All-Island Civic Dialogue on Brexit with the initial meeting hosted
by the Taoiseach and the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade on 2nd November
in Dublin. This dialogue will allow for the widest possible conversation on the
implications of the UK referendum result for Ireland, North and South and for
North/South relations. The Boyle event is one of a number of dialogues that
will be held throughout Ireland in 2017

Abbey Community
College Booking Office will open on Wednesday 18th January until 3rd
February with opening times as follows: Monday 1pm until 2pm then 4pm until
4.30, Tuesday 1pm until 2pm and 4pm until 4.30, Wednesday1pm until 2pm and 4pm
until 4.30, Thursday 1pm until 2pm and 4pm until 4.30 and Friday 1pm until 2pm.
Child tickets are €10 and adults €15. Tickets must be paid for in full at the
time of booking and must be paid for by cash/cheque; unfortunately there will
be no credit card facility available. Booking must be made in person at the
Booking Office (Parents Room. No phone booking facility is available; please do
not call the school office to book.
SPEED LIMIT
CHANGES PLANNED IN BOYLE
Roscommon Co Co have published their draft speed limit bye-law document
which sees a number of changes proposed to speed limits throughout the county
including a large number in Boyle. Some housing estates in Boyle that currently
do not have a speed restriction will be issued with a 30 kph limit. Additions
and alterations are also proposed for 50/60/80 and 100kph zones. The document
is also available for inspection at a number of council locations including the
Boyle Municipal District Office on Cootehall Street. Objections may be
submitted in writing by any person or e-mailed to roads@roscommoncoco.ie at any
time during the inspection period. The latest date for receipt of objections is
4 p.m. on 9/2/2017.
A copy of the Draft Bye-Laws may be purchased for the sum of €20.00.

BAG PACK
The committee of
the Lourdes Assisted Pilgrims Fund would like to thank all those who
contributed and supported the pre Christmas Bag Pack in Supervalu. A total of
€6,213.71 was raised. To our wonderful team of bag packers, please accept our
appreciation and thanks for your generous donation of time, enthusiasm and
energy.
NEVAN MAGUIRE
COMES TO KILRONAN CASTLE
A cookery
demonstration with the renowned chef Nevan Maguire will take place on Wednesday
1st March 2017 in Kilronan Castle. Tickets priced €20 are now on sale. This is
a fundraising event in aid of Ardcarne Community Childcare Services and
Cootehall National School.
COURTYARD MARKET
The market is now
open for Organic Fruit and Vegetables, Organic Eggs, Olive Oil, Achill Sea
Salt, Breads, Cakes and Tarts. The market will be open from 10am until 2pm each
and every Saturday.
BOYLE ICA
Interested
locals in the ICA (Irish Countrywomen’s Association) are trying to reform a
