beekeeping event
Join Eamon Tubman from DIGGES BEEKEEPING CLUB on September 3rd at 11am in Ardcarne Garden Centre, Boyle for an introduction to the ancient art of beekeeping. Look out for Ardcarne honey which is hoped to be available by then in store.

Jiving Lessons
Get your dancing shoes on!! Jiving Lessons with Colin Butler will begin on Wednesday 31st August in Tawnytaskin Community Centre. Classes will take place every Wednesday for 4 weeks until 21st September from 8.30pm to 10.00pm. Contact Una Bhan Tourism on 071 966 3033 for more information.

Rehearsals will begin for ‘Hairspray’ on Monday, September 5th in St. Joseph’s Hall, Boyle at 8pm and a warm welcome is extended to all new, former and existing members to join up for twelve unforgettable weeks of music, singing, drama, dancing, comedy and lots more…

Boyle Yoga shack returns with a jam packed autumn timetable. Starting Monday 5th of September; Mondays: Ladies Beginner’s - 6.45pm to 7.45pm, Ladies Improver’s – 8.15pm to 9.15pm. Tuesdays: Morning Flow – 9.45am-10.45am, Gentle Flow – 11.30am to 12.30pm, Lunch Time Beginners – 1.10pm to 1.50pm, Men’s Yoga – 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Wednesdays: Early Bird – 7.00am to 8.00am, Lunch Time Improvers – 1.10pm to 1.50pm, Pregnancy Yoga – 7.00pm to 8.15pm. Thursdays: Beginners (Mixed) - 7.00pm to 8.00pm, Improvers (Mixed) – 8.30pm to 9.45pm. Fridays: All Levels (Moylurg Room, Forest Park) – 10.00am to 11.00am. Tai Chi

Curlew Walkers Club
The next meeting of the Curlew Walkers club will take place on Saturday 10th September, meeting on the Crescent, Boyle at 10am. COLOUR RUN
Roscommon Colour Run takes place in Lough Key on Sunday, 11th September from 1pm to 3pm - this is a fantastic ‘crawl, walk, or run’. This event is suitable for all ages and abilities and celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community.

SECRET GARDENS
Created by two artists in an intimate rural setting, this garden combines productivity, ornamental planting and permaculture. Winding grass paths lead to ponds, developing woodland and polytunnel, one jungle-themed and one for fruit and veg. With an eclectic mix of planting and sculpture, this 16 year old garden is still developing. Open 11am until 5pm on 11th September. On R361 Boyle – Frenchpark, Right after Saddlers Inn. EXPERIENCE THE DANCE HALL ERA
Boyle will be brought back to the Golden Age of Ireland’s iconic Dance Hall/Showband Era of the 1950’s and 60’s on Saturday, September 24th, when this magical era will be lovingly recreated for one night only. Music on the night will be performed by The Keith McDonald Showband. Tickets are available through Úna Bhán Tourism located on the Grounds of King House. Boyle Traditional Singers Circle
Traditional unaccompanied singing, in English and Irish takes place in Dodd’s Crescent Bar (back room), The Crescent, Boyle the third Saturday of every month, all year around, 9.30pm onwards. All singers and listeners welcome.

BOYLE GOLF CLUB NEWS
The highlight of the weekend at Boyle GC was the hosting of the James Shivnan Memorial Golf Challenge. The wet conditions did not deter the large field of players, a testament to how well James was universally liked and fondly remembered. The day raised over €2600 which will be donated to the Mayo/Roscommon Palliative Care Team & Oncology Unit Sligo. Thanks to all who supported including those non players who made donations.
A Golfer of the Year Strokeplay Competition was held on Sunday with Seamus Gallagher returning the best score on 67 nett. In second was Club Captain Ross Andrew on the same score, gross went to Gary Carty with 72, and in third was Michael Rush with 69 nett. This result will put Seamus in a strong position on the GOY leaderboard with only three events remaining.
Junior Golf: Junior Golf Lessons will recommence on Saturday 3rd September from 11am-1pm.

COURTYARD MARKET
The Market is open from 10am to 2pm each and every Saturday in the grounds of King House, Boyle. If you would like to enjoy the best locally grown fresh and organic produce, then a trip to Boyle Courtyard Market on Saturday should be on your agenda. There is a wide range of seasonal produce, including organic fruit and vegetables, homemade jams and marmalade, organic free range eggs, fruit juices, gluten free/ sour dough/ spelt bread and all kinds of delicious home bakes are available every week. Alongside the food stalls are a number of crafters selling their handmade wares, personalized candles and knitwear.
